Intuit’s strategy is clear: deceive customers until they are over invested and locked into using this year’s product. TaxCut is far less expensive, offers an equally effective tax prep program and will transfer prior year return information prepared on turbotax.

Reading through their web site, if you’re as thorough as I was, you’ll be told that Deluxe should not be used if you have investment activity or self-employment income. Instead, you’ll be guided to use the more expensive Premier or Home & Business versions respectively.
